The term "Underwater CCTV camera" refers to a Closed Circuit TeleVision device (AKA surveillance or security video camera) designed specifically for underwater use. They can be used for many purposes such as marine life studies, monitoring of industrial equipment or processes. Underwater CCTV cameras can be submerged to significant depths, into a fresh or salt water for delivering live video and photos to the surface.

Underwater CCTV cameras can be permanently mounted at the bottom, installed on underwater ROV/AUV, submarines or dropped by cable from a vessel.  Usually, they are powered and delivers video through an Underwater Network Cables.  Currently we have two types of underwater CCTV cameras on the market:

  • analog CCTV cameras - obsolete technology currently widely replaced by digital IP CCTV cameras

  • digital (IP CCTV) cameras - modern, computerized CCTV cameras with network interface supports video delivery over TCP/IP networks. We manufacture and integrate ONLY digital IP CCTV cameras because they provide better image quality and almost endless integration possibilities.

Underwater Network Cable

Computer network cable (copper or fiber-optic) designed specifically for underwater use.  Such cables can be submerged into fresh or salt water for unlimited time and withstands (very) high pressures and harsh underwater conditions - cold temperatures, strong underwater currents, impacts, etc... Usually such cables have a special ruggedized plastic jackets and inner reinforcement elements.

We use copper underwater network cables Cat5e and Cat6e for distances up to 100-500 meters and fiber-optic underwater cables for longer distances.
